The Pearl Nursery and Primary School, Karaikal was created in response to an ever-growing need in Karaikal for private, Anglophone education. The Pearl Primary is the only school in the area to offer the cohesive ICSE curriculam from Reception through to all grades. Accordingly, we are an obvious choice for parents interested in providing contemporary education cater to the needs of the changing environment and students in transitioning from, or returning to, karaikal from other cities.
The Pearl Primary is the only school in the region to offer ICSE syllabus by following Xseed system of teaching methodology, which is open to all students who wish to specialize in certain subjects. This programme allows greater flexibility to students who have specific areas of strength - we build on and further develop these strengths, thus enhancing their prospects to get to the requirements of the contemporary world.
The Pearl Primary school and we are delighted to have students who enrich our lessons, our hallways and our playground with their various cultures and perspectives. Our teachers and pupils also benefit greatly from contributions from our parent community to classroom and extra-curricular events.
We limit our class groups to a maximum of 30 students so that our teachers can tailor lessons to suit individual learning needs. Our size also allows teachers, directors and administrators to know each student and their family and to maintain regular, highly-personalised and proactive communication between school and home.
Despite our small classes, we keep fees at an affordable level. We wish to make private education as financially accessible as possible for families in the region and we are proud of the value we provide.
Our school will always be small, will always provide high-quality education and will always remain reasonably priced as compared with other schools in this locality. These are our commitments to families who place their trust and their children in our hands.
Our goal is not to imitate or compete with the large schools in Pondicherry and Tamilnadu region. Indeed, our aim is to be different and in doing so to offer more choice to parents and their children.
Parents, community members, local employers, pastors, teachers, and students were asked in 2013 what the school system should do to prepare students for a dramatically-changing world. This year-long dialogue set us on a new course, one in which we believe will allow our students the opportunity to fulfill their dreams, and as parents, our dreams for them.
Developing Creative Problem Solvers ready for their career through a focus on critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration, is our mission. We believe success in the 21st century depends less on what you know, and more on what you can do.
Education focused primarily on content acquisition and standardized performance measures do not adequately prepare students to successfully engage an increasingly complex world. High Quality Content, coupled with the competencies contained within the Portrait, will yield Creative Problem-Solvers prepared to tackle the challenges in their Career, and Citizenship.
"Because the pace of the societal change shows no signs of slackening, citizens of the 21st Century must become adept problem solvers, able to wrestle with ill-defined problems and win. Problem-solving ability is the cognitive passport of the future."
Academic performance is important for many reasons. It can open the door to opportunity and pave the way for future success, both in higher education and professionally; however, we believe a values-based, international education is of equal importance.
Our values-driven international education is expressed through core values which are woven into every academic and extra-curricular activity at The Pearl Primary schools. We live and breathe three values that form the basis of everything we do.
With these values at our core, we encourage independent learning and empower students to embrace responsibility. Students at our top private schools learn to celebrate diversity in a spirit of understanding and tolerance that helps them become citizens of the world.
